The Coast Guard Auxiliary e-News is designed to keep you informed of

O-Department Operations Workshop and TCT Refresher for 2009
The Operations (Response) Department
has posted resource documents and PowerPoint slides for the 1 hour 2009
TCT Refresher course on the
O-Dept website.
This refresher session is a required currency maintenance for all
coxswains, crew, and PWOs for 2009 and must be completed by 31 December
2009. This session consists of 3 documents, a facilitator resource
guide, a participant guide and a PowerPoint presentation. Also posted is
the 2009 Operations Workshop. This consists of 2 documents, a PowerPoint
presentation and a facilitator reference guide. This is an optional but
highly recommended workshop for 2009. This workshop may be a requirement
at the local level. Check with your SO/FSO-OP. back to TOP V-Department Workshop Updates for 2009
The V-Department
has updated its workshop and training modules for 2009. They can be
found on the
V-department's web site or ordered from ANSC (ANSC number 2001
A). These workshops are not mandatory; they are intended to be
used to train new, and to refresh existing, program visitors and vessel
examiners.

Enrollment is open during the month of January. available on E-Learning. This course is required by all Auxiliarists who
want to become qualified as Fingerprint Technicians for the purpose of
assisting with new member personal security investigations. The old
course, on the CHDIRAUX site, is no longer available. To register for
E-Learning, access the

website, or if already registered login to the

SafetySeal web site. back to TOP Public Affairs & Marketing C School (AUX-12) Offered Prospective students (FSO/SO/DSO-PA/PB) for the Public Affairs & Marketing C School (AUX-12) should submit their Short Term Training Request (STTR) ASAP to their DIRAUX via their Flotilla Commander to help assure selection for one of this year's classes. Seats are still available for the 6-8 February class in Miami. back to TOP REMINDER: AUXSAR (Auxiliary Search and Rescue) Specialty Course No Longer Available As of December 1, 2008, the "old"
AUXSAR course and exam are no longer available. Members successfully
passing the "old" AUXSAR exam on or before November 30th will receive
credit for the course as a part of their six-course AUXOP program.
Members currently studying the "old" AUXSAR course who did not
successfully pass the "old" AUXSAR exam prior to December 1st will have
to start again and complete the AUXSC&E course. The New Auxiliary Search
Coordination & Execution (AUXSC&E) Course replaces the Auxiliary Search
and Rescue (AUXSAR) Course. For more detail on the AUXSC&E course visit
the National
