Orion Products has issued a follow-up
statement concerning their Sky Blazer product saying that it is safe for
use if the instructions for holding the tube in the correct manner are
followed. For more details, download the file from the

website. back to TOP Soundings Magazine Auxiliary Members Only web site has been repaired and a new improved web page is available by logging into ShopAuxiliary.com and then the Members Only link using your member number and eDirectory password, then click on Soundings for terrific benefits. back to TOP Auxiliary Center Closed for Annual Inventory The Coast Guard Auxiliary Center
(AUXCEN) in St. Louis is closed for inventory from November 1-6, 2008.
Orders will not be processed during the inventory period. Orders and
returns received as of noon Friday October 31, 2008 will be held and
processed upon completion of the inventory. In addition, on November 5,
2008 from 10:00 pm to 10:30 pm PST, members will not be able to submit
orders through the online District Stores site due to scheduled server
maintenance. Remember, even if you submit online District Stores orders
during the AUXCEN closure for inventory, they will not be processed
until completion of the inventory. back to TOP District Elections Results - Updated District elections results are
now available and updated. back to TOP USCG Clarifies Auxiliary Marine Safety Missions The Auxiliary continues to provide a
great service to the active duty force including many duties related to
marine safety.
ALCOAST 5058 clarifies roles Auxiliarists can
fill as marine inspectors and the eligibility of Auxiliary members to
earn the CG-MSSEP qualification. back to TOP Leadership Video Contest Announced The Leadership Development Center
(LDC) announces the
Second Annual Unit Leadership Development Program (ULDP) Video Contest. back to TOP Operational Dress Uniform Available Only from UDC Effective immediately, all
Operational Dress Uniforms (ODUS) can only be purchased directly from
the Uniform Distribution Center. back to TOP National Search and Rescue Competition The first National Search and Rescue
Competitions were held last
month in Cape May, NJ. Congratulations to the team
from D11-Northern Region who were declared the overall champions of the

announces a Coast Guard wide photo contest as
part of an initiative to gather photos for the Coast Guard’s 2009

(CGES) has established
a scholarship program for students who are
dependents of active duty, reserve, and military retired members,
current civilian NAF and APF employees, and Coast Guard Auxiliarists
