NTrain 2008 Coverage Now Available on SITREP The 2008 National Training conference concluded on Sunday morning, January 27. This will permit flotillas to support in-store activities and avoid scheduling conflicts with North American Safe Boating Week activities over the long Memorial Day weekend. SO-PV's are asked to coordinate with their VCP to identify a Fit to Float Campaign point of contact for each Bass Pro Shops store in their area of operation and provide the information to cgauxstu@yahoo.com no later than Februrary 28, either directly or through their district DSO-PV. back to TOP USCG Navigation Center Link Placed on Boating Department Web Site Explore the USCG NAVCEN web site and tap into a wealth of boating information. and photos are wanted for the spring
edition of Navigator. Stories should be
submitted in Word format
(generally not more than 1200 words, or
3 pages long), and photos should be at least 300 dpi (high
resolution) and sent as separate JPGs (not embedded in Word documents). Photos
should have complete captions and credit for who took the photo.

2007 National Small Vessel Security Summit Report
is now available. Topics include expanded education and outreach for
safety, security and trust-building purposes; enhanced education and
support of citizen/stakeholder - volunteer based watch systems in the
maritime domain; enhanced coordination, cooperation and communications
between federal, state and local agencies; and operator identification

features a specific theme and is championed by a Coast Guard office,
assigned based on the command's expertise in that area. Recent themes
have included: National Maritime Center; International Ice Patrol;
Environmental Crimes; Search and Rescue; and Homeland Security. The
Winter issue just published focuses on the Western Rivers Sectors and
features two articles by Auxiliarists. This issue and back issues can be
viewed free
online. Readers may also subscribe free of
