The Coast Guard Auxiliary e-News is designed to keep you informed of
information, issues and programs that affect the Coast Guard
Auxiliary. It includes links to official Coast Guard Auxiliary and
Coast Guard sites that represent official Coast Guard Auxiliary and
Coast Guard programs, positions or policies and is sent only to
Coast Guard Auxiliary member’s email addresses entered in AUXDATA.

If you are a newly assigned 'IS'
officer or currently hold an 'IS' position and have not attended AUX-10
C School, now is your chance to attend a session near you. February 1-3
at Coast Guard Island, Alameda, CA; March 4-6 in Miami; April 11-13 in
Chicago; May 6-8 in Miami; June 30 - July 2 at the Coast Guard Academy,
New London, CT; and September 15-17 in Seattle. To request your slot in
the class send an STTR, ANSC Form 7059, to your DIRAUX office. It’s
first come first serve so don’t delay as the classes fill up quickly.

The National Commodore
has announced the appointment of the Executive Staff Interview
Committee. This special committee will review the applicants for the
recently vacated position of NADCO-RBS and provide the information to
the National Commodore for selection. The appointed committee members
are Nicholas Kerigan, Thomas Venezio, Warren McAdams and Fred Gates.
Interested, qualified applicants are asked to submit their application
and resumes to David Thomas, NA, at

to National Chief of Staff at

refresher session has been released. This annual requirement for
operations personnel includes the
2008 TCT PowerPoint Presentation,
2008 TCT Facilitator Resource and the
2008 TCT Participant Reference. This one hour refresher session
emphasizes crew problem solving and the seven key components of Team

Inflatable Life Jacket Basics is now
available as a single, combined document that incorporates the best of
both previous articles. This article also incorporates the trend toward
utilizing the term Life Jackets in lieu of PFDs, particularly when
dealing with the boating public. Auxiliarists and interested members of
the boating public should download this final edition and read it. back to TOP N-Train - Discover, Learn & Lead N-Train (National Training) 2008 is
scheduled from January 21 through January 27, 2008 at the Renaissance
Hotel St. Louis Airport in St. Louis, MO. General information, as well
as information for making hotel reservations, travel arrangements and
the agenda can all be found on the
Coast
Guard Auxiliary Association website.
Please note that the hotel’s deadline date for making reservations is
Friday January 7, 2008. Do not wait to make your reservations in order

Workshop is now available. Intended to provide guidance for Districts,
Divisions, and Flotillas to update their members on Operations programs
for 2008, the workshop is presented in two parts, the
Operations Workshop 2008 Facilitator Slide Notes
and the
2008 Operations Workshop PowerPoint Slides.
back to TOP REMINDER: 2008 VE and PV Workshops Released The US Coast Guard Auxiliary
National V Department has released the
2008 VE and PV Workshops.
The workshops for 2008 are not mandatory but units are encouraged to
hold the workshops to better the knowledge of their Vessel Examiners and
Program Visitors. The workshops are also available on CD from ANSC as,
"V Department 2008 Workshop CD - ANSC 2001A". back to TOP REMINDER: 2008 Instructor Workshop Released The 2008 Instructor Workshop is now
available on the E Department
Library. The workshop is required for all Instructors for 2008. A
qualified Instructor or Member Trainer may implement this Workshop at
any level. The length of the Workshop should require 30 - 35 minutes for
presentation. back to TOP REMINDER: 2008 Vessel Safety Check Decals Now Available The Auxiliary National Supply Center (ANSC) has received an initial supply of 2008 Vessel Safety Check decals. The overall supply should be more than adequate to meet our demands and the demands of our partners. This year's USCG Auxiliary distribution plan will duplicate the one used in prior years. The quantity of decals received at each unit level will be a function of the past year's performance. ANSC has already been given the quantities and will deliver that number of decals and VSC Examination Record forms, ANSC 7012, upon receiving the initial order request. Either the unit's elected officer or the materials office must place the order. For more information, please visit
