2008 VE And PV Workshops Released

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary National V Department has released the 2008 VE and PV Workshops. The workshops for 2008 are not mandatory but units are encouraged to hold the workshops to better the knowledge of their Vessel Examiners and Program Visitors. The workshops are also available on CD from ANSC as, "V Department 2008 Workshop CD - ANSC 2001A".

2008 Instructor Workshop Released

The 2008 Instructor Workshop is now available on the E Department Library. The workshop is required for all Instructors for 2008. A qualified Instructor or Member Trainer may implement this Workshop at any level. The length of the Workshop should require 30 - 35 minutes for presentation.

Interpreter Corps 10th Anniversary

The USCG Auxiliary Interpreter Corps was founded in 1997 and now has over 260 qualified linguists and commands 46 foreign languages. Our Interpreters have supported many successful Coast Guard missions from the warn waters of the Caribbean to the bitter cold Siberia. More in the November 2007 Interpreter Newsletter.

Stories and Photos Wanted for Winter Edition of Navigator

Stories and photos are wanted for the winter edition of Navigator.  Stories should be submitted  in Word format (generally not more than 1200 words, or 3 pages long), and photos should be at least 300 dpi (high resolution) and sent as separate JPGs (not embedded in Word documents). Photos should have complete captions and credit for who took the photo.

REMINDER: The National Commodore Requests Nominations for the New Auxiliarist of the Year Award

 

The New Auxiliarist of the Year (NAUXOY) award recognizes the most exemplary performance by an eligible Auxiliarist during the previous calendar year. Only those Auxiliarists who demonstrated sustained, exceptional standards of proficiency and conduct, and whose appearance and bearing were consistently impeccable, shall be considered for nomination. This award parallels the awards for the Coast Guard Enlisted Person of the Year (EPOY) and the Civilian Employee of the Year (CEOY) awards. NAUXOY tenure shall extend from the date of their announcement as NAUXOY until the date of announcement of their successor.
