NMMA Certification Safety Labels In the event of a boater inquiry, two (2) new safety labels are required to be placed on all new boats manufactured in the United States. They are: Prop Helm Label (NW 207-07) - "Rotating propeller may cause serious injury or death. Shut off engine when near persons in the water.", and Prop Transom Label (NW 208-07) - "Rotating propeller may cause serious injury or death. Do not approach or use ladder when engine is running." This involves the transfer of one Division from each Department to the other and the renaming of several others. Effective immediately the Marine Safety & Environmental Protection
Department is renamed the
Marine Safety
(Prevention) Department. The Commercial Vessel Examination
Division is now Vessel Activities Division.
The Marine Safety Division is now the
Port and Facility
